Acumen Development Partners is excited to share the completion of the Marriott Moxy Hotel in the vibrant city of New Orleans. The select service 10 story 108 key hotel, owned by Noble Development Group, is located at 210 O'Keefe Avenue in the Central Business District of downtown New Orleans. It is within walking distance of the French Quarter, Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and the Smoothie King Center. The opening marks the second Moxy Hotel in the US market that is targeted to the self-service minded Next Generation traveler looking for a fun, edgy and affordable lodging option.
Construction of the hotel renovation began in October of 2015 and was completed on time and on budget by April 2016. Originally built in the 1950's, the historic building was previously home to a Quality Inn. In order to retain its' historic status, architectural features such as the building facade had to remain intact. The guestrooms were completely renovated and bathrooms were reconfigured in order to pull the vanities out into the entrance corridor of the room. In the public areas, the footprint of the first floor lobby increased upon the exit of a previous restaurant tenant. The open lobby plan includes signature brand elements such as 24/7 self-service food market, full service bar, front desk and different areas for lounging, socializing and connecting guest devices. The lobby also features a state of the art high energy sound system that perfectly transmits the spirited and youthful Moxy ambience.
The polished concrete floors, exposed concrete columns and open ceilings encapsulate the industrial chic design created by Stonehill & Taylor Architects of New York City with production drawings completed by Baskervill Architecture out of Richmond, VA. Fun and edgy graphics abound against a backdrop of neutral colored surfaces and furniture. The full service bar features drinks inspired by the Big Easy and the 24/7 market is locally catered.
