Acumen completes conversion of Noble's Hotel Indigo Savannah Ellis Square

Acumen Development Partners is proud to announce the opening of the Hotel Indigo in the historic district of Ellis Square in Savannah, GA. Located on 201 W Bay Street, the renovated property is walking distance from the popular Riverfront area lined with picturesque historic buildings and cobblestone streets.

This unique property built in 1850 is a nationally registered landmark that was originally home to the former Guckenheimer tobacco warehouse and grocery. In recent years, it operated as the Inn at Ellis Square. The expansive renovation of the 252-room project involved combining the historic building with an adjacent modern hotel built 130 years later.

The 54 suites in the historic hotel have 10' ceilings and a top floor featuring lofted bedrooms connected to living areas by a spiral staircase. The structural masonry demising walls of the 1980's building presented challenges to re-configuring guestrooms. This particular characteristic of the building also made it difficult to rewire for new technology.

The lobby was redesigned to create a more seamless connection between the two buildings. The result is a open floor plan layout that affords guests shared common areas such as the Five Oaks Taproom, Health & Fitness Center, Business Center, and 6,000 sf of meeting and event space.

The Hotel Indigo Savannah showcases a modern interior design infused with local artwork and decor. The architectural details highlight the preservation of historic building elements including exposed brick walls and structural timber beams. Furnishings combine rustic and modern styles with vibrant colors and large patterns. The design is a significant departure from the previous coastal style that was a hallmark of Indigo since the brand's inception in 2004.

The Hotel Indigo is owned by Noble Investment Group in Atlanta, and managed by IHG.
