Design Completes, Construction Commences at Hotel Phillips in Kansas City

Acumen Development Partners is proud to be working with Blinderman Construction of Chicago, IL and Hotel Rehabs also of Chicago, IL on the renovation of the historic Hotel Phillips in downtown Kansas City, MO. The project recently received +approvals from the National Park Service and Hilton Worldwide to move forward with construction. 


Construction will commence in early June and is scheduled to be completed by end of year, 2016. The hotel will be converting to a Curio Collection by Hilton in the spring of 2017. The conversion will involve a unique signature restaurant, speakeasy bar, eclectic coffee shop, and a return of the building's historic elements. All new HVAC systems and technological upgrades will be implemented as well. Blinderman Construction will be responsible for the public areas and Hotel Rehab will complete the guestrooms. 


The interior design completed by KKAD of Chester, New Jersey blends a comfortable luxury design aesthetic with the hotel's historic Art Deco architectural features. The upscale design provides a world-class experience for the adventure seeking traveler in a boutique hotel setting.


The Hotel Phillips is located at the corner of 12th Street and Baltimore Avenue in the Financial District of downtown Kansas City and is within walking distance of the Power & Light District, Sprint Center and Kansas City Convention Center. The 20 story / 217 key building was originally constructed in 1931 and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979.
